    I love using cans of food as weights and counter tops to do my stretches. On you tube there are lots of home workouts you can take advantage of, but busy parents may have to stagger workouts throughout the day.

  8. Finding time to work out as a parent can feel impossible. You’re juggling snacks, homework, meltdowns, and maybe—if you’re lucky—five minutes of “me time” before someone needs something. But honestly? The best way I’ve found to stay active is to bring the kids into it. It turns out that fitness doesn’t have to be this separate, elusive part of your life; it can be part of the family routine, messy and all.

    For instance, we do something I call “Commercial Break Challenges.” When we’re watching TV together, everyone has to get up and do a silly challenge during the ad breaks—like five jumping jacks, a plank-off, or a 30-second dance party. It’s about keeping things fun, and at least half the time, we end up laughing too hard to notice we’re actually exercising.
